چکیده

The paper presents a modification of titanium dioxide with fumed silica. SiO2/TiO2 photocatalysts were obtained by the sol-gel method and then calcined under an argon atmosphere. Various SiO2 weights (2–17.2 wt.%) used in materials’ preparation stage. samples characterized using advanced analytical methods, such as FT-IR/DRS infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, SEM scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis/DRS spectroscopy. BET specific surface area zeta potential also measured. Based on results, it was observed that effectively inhibited increase crystallite size anatase brookite during calcination decrease values. Moreover, presence nanomaterials contributed to change band gap energy photocatalytic activity determined based decomposition methylene blue UV irradiation. Thermal inert gas atmosphere significantly increased dye removal rate. It should be noted all showed higher compared starting TiO2. found along content sample (up 14.3 wt.% SiO2). highest recorded for SiO2(11.1%)/TiO2_400 SiO2(14.3%)/TiO2_400 samples.

Ni/Ti layered double hydroxide: synthesis, characterization and application as a photocatalyst for visible light degradation of aqueous methylene blue.

Visible light responsive 2 : 1 Ni/Ti layered double hydroxide (LDH) was synthesized by a single step hydrothermal route using commercially available Ni(NO3)2·6H2O, TiCl4 and urea. The material exhibited significant absorption in the visible range with a very narrow band gap (2.68 eV). This could be attributed to structural defects as confirmed by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), photolum...

Hydrothermal synthesis of nitrogen doped graphene supported cobalt ferrite (NG@CoFe2O4) as photocatalyst for the methylene blue dye degradation

A magnetic NG@CoFe2O4 photocatalyst was developed via a facile hydrothermal method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) techniques. The CoFe2O4 nanoparticles were found to have a size between 100-150 nm and were unifo...

Mesoporous WO3/TiO2 Nanocomposites Photocatalyst for Rapid Degradation of Methylene Blue in Aqueous Medium

This paper presents the wet chemical synthesis of WO3/TiO2 nanocomposites using hydrothermally prepared monoclinic WO3 and anatase TiO2 nanoparticles as composite matrices and filler, respectively. The nanocomposites were prepared in different compositions, i.e. WO3:TiO2 ratio (w/w) of (1:1), (1:3), and (3:1). Physicoche...

Synthesis and Characterization of Ag-Ag2O/TiO2@polypyrrole Heterojunction for Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation of Methylene Blue

Hybrid multi-functional nanomaterials comprising two or more disparate materials have become a powerful approach to obtain advanced materials for environmental remediation applications. In this work, an Ag-Ag2O/TiO2@polypyrrole (Ag/TiO2@PPy) heterojunction has been synthesized by assembling a self-stabilized Ag-Ag2O (p type) semiconductor (denoted as Ag) and polypyrrole (π-conjugated polymer) o...
